Kensington Avenue Primary School (KAPS) recently took part in the Royal Horticultural Society’s Big Seed Sow, a celebration of spring and a chance to share plants with the local community.

Between 27th and 31st March, students at the academy planted lettuces, nasturtiums, calendulas, tomatoes, beans and sunflowers.

A few weeks later, after the seeds had germinated, parents and carers were given an opportunity to choose some seedlings to take home. Students helped distribute the seedlings and shared growing tips with the adults. The Reverend Alison Brunt from St Oswald’s Church also visited the school and was presented with cards and seedlings for local parishioners.
