Norbury High has announced a new partnership with Hemisphere Education.
Hemisphere is a training platform that helps disrupt bias and improve racial literacy. It has been developed by Rare, multi-award-winning leaders in race equity in education and employment. Rare’s clients include Cambridge University, the Civil Service Fast Stream, JP Morgan, McKinsey, Oxford University and 95% of the UK’s top law firms.
Hemisphere brings a whole-school approach to building belonging. It assists teachers in understanding, safeguarding and nourishing Black students; it empowers students in their peer-to-peer interactions. It draws on government data; Rare’s 2021 survey into the school experience of several hundred of the UK’s highest achieving students; and 18 years’ experience to foster success.
Hemisphere’s programme aligns perfectly with Norbury High’s values and mission statement and staff at the academy are looking forward to utilising it to positively influence student outcomes.
